Saturday, February 4th, 2012Table manners observed in America during a meal time adds to the pleasure of eating and is not very strictly observed because lobster, corn on the cob, cookies, shrimp and fried chicken are eaten using fingers. Making noise while eating and talking with food in the mouth is not allowed. Fork and knife are used by the left hand and spoon in the right hand, napkins are placed on the lap. If something on the table can’t be reached asking someone politely is the norm. Sitting up straight and lifting the food to the mouth without bending is the right way.
